"Health care tips for men"
By: Jose Maria M. Villarama IIEnsure Optimal Health

See a doctor. Dependence on a female partner, the belief that many health problems will just go away, the fear of being proven wrong or being told off are only some of the petty reasons why men seldom or refuse to see a doctor. But, having regular physical check ups, especially if one has a family history of disease, is very important to decrease disease progression or even death.

Know your family history. Knowledge of what may come or what one is predisposed to is a very important tool to combating men’s health issues. With the help of a doctor, one can strategize how best to address a health issue even before it happens.

Watch one’s diet. Cutting down on sugar, salt, fat, preservatives, and alcohol significantly slashes the risk of developing common men’s diseases.

Exercise regularly. Not only does regular exercise improve muscular tone, it also cuts down the risk of developing heart disease and the health risks associated with being overweight or obese.

Take multivitamins. Multivitamin supplementation ensures that the right amount of vitamins and minerals are pumped into the body to prevent many medical conditions.

Quit smoking and decrease alcohol intake. Despite the aggressive campaign against vices and the statistics that have been released to prove their ill effects, many men still smoke or consume too much alcohol and tobacco.

Keep a cool head. Many accounts of men suffering from heart attacks or strokes are preceded by episodes of anger or heightened stress.

Relax. Nowadays, many men cannot even take a leisurely walk in the beach or park, watch a movie, or have a quiet dinner without distractions or work-related concerns entering the picture.
